Students from Papakura High school, Anthony and Narra, who
once attended Kelvin Road School, returned this week, to explain how reading has helped them become successful learners. Both Anthony and Narra are in their last year
of high school and have enjoyed a love of reading, inspired during their time
at Kelvin Road.
Captain Under Pants and The Philosophers Stone were just two of
the books the boys enjoyed. “Reading helps you to learn, it can make you smarter
and is a great habit to have” claimed Narra, who is looking to go on to university
next year.
Anthony is already planning on going overseas to study to become a chef and
says, “Reading is so important and can help you succeed for life.”
