Cultural Learning

EXPLORING CULTURES: Pupils and teachers from Kelvin Rd Primary School dressed in the traditional Indian, Samoan and Maori dress.



Children from Kelvin Rd Primary School have ended their Exploring Cultures unit last week topping it off with a performance from Samoa.

After visiting a marae to explore Maori culture, and a temple to learn more about Indian culture, the students were treated to traditional siva by taupau Leabroune Leuo and a comedic insight into the Samoan culture by local personality Willie Iosia. who spoke about the importance of religion and family.

In celebration of the last leg of the unit, people dressed in the traditional costume of each culture.
